Trinidad and Tobago has invited Diaspora Vibe artists to celebrate their 50th anniversary of Independence. From February 10 – 18, 2012 Diaspora Vibe Gallery (DVG) will host an Artist Master Class Workshop and Exhibition in Trinidad & Tobago at the Normandie Hotel Gallery. Opening Reception will be Friday, Feb. 10 at 6:30pm. Diaspora Vibe artists will be present to meet and greet attendees.

Upon their return, DVG artists will share and discuss artistic methods, skills, and inspirations with students from Miami’s Design and Architecture High School. This exchange will enable Miami students to reap the benefits of the Diaspora Vibe experience.

Our artists are well-established voices of the Caribbean aesthetic: Brian Wong Won, Clayton de Fretias, Jeremy Powell, Patricia Roldan, Tom Weinkle and Maxine Spector will work with Trinidadian master artist LeRoy Clarke. Self-taught and one of Trinidad & Tobago’s finest contemporary artists, he was conferred the title Master Artist by The National Museum and Art Gallery of Trinidad & Tobago in 1998. In 2003, the Government acclaimed him a National Icon.
